Hi My Name is Danielle & Im earth deficient

I’m that person that doesn’t stop for gas until my tank is flashing empty, I sneak out of dinner parties to run to the ATM because well quite frankly I hate going, I don’t budget my checkbook until all of the checks have been cashed woopsy. It’s not that I’m irresponsible I go to work daily squeezing in 15 hour days often Natal Saturn in the 6th keeps me working hard. It’s just these practical detours that annoy me the small stuff drives me crazy. I first became abundantly aware of this energy when I purchased my house; fax this… sign this. These tedious details left me having several mini nervous break downs often; upon moving in; it was paint this, hang that … I felt like hanging myself from my shower rod. Even now I had someone install shades but I still need some sort of drapes. I purchased various versions of purple & pink they arrived in several boxes I was unable to decide which ones I liked. Someone called to inquire if I hung them yet truth be told I ironed & put up all of them up & liked none of them. Silently questioning, who actually enjoys all the details that go into decorating? This person advised me to just leave it alone, that’s when I broke down confessing I hate fucking window treatments. I have to hang them eventually though, there is no such thing as letting it be…. with 4 planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, & Pluto) in cardinal signs nothing goes undone but do I enjoy these tedious tasks? Hell no! Not for one minute. Sadly I’m earth deficient.

People with an abundance of planets placed in earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) are practical, Productive, interested in tangible results. The only earth planet I have is Mars in Taurus, Mars in Taurus is slow, methodical, and painstakingly thorough but it isn’t enough to ground me, simply not enough to make these tedious tasks enjoyable.

It is odd to be suddenly aware of these energies inside of me. The Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, and Libra & Capricorn) are eager to initiate tasks. They are independent enterprising, direct and quick to set forth on new paths…sadly these tasks have nothing to with housework, puzzles, gardening (Very Tauruean), or crosswords, Sudoku, reading some quanta physics literature (Very Capricorn) or rising early, eating lunch daily at noon and hitting the gym by 1 (Virgo-ish routine).

I do admire these traits in others, I suppose that is a case of opposites attracting. We admire in others what we lack in our selves.

I have a friend she lacks water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), she tells me stories of how she can’t stand having to many woman friends. Stating “Oh they are just too emotional”, she has never been in love where she lost sight of herself. I need mental stimulation she concedes. I joke and tell her, drink a bottle of Fiji you are dehydrated. I offer advice: the way to the heart is not through the brain (I’m a Cancer sun). But she cannot help it with planets in mostly air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) she is emotionally detached. Recently she has begun dating a double Scorpio (Sun and Moon). Truth be told I’m not sure how long this will last; the sign of deep emotional sharing with an airy-intellectual sign…uh I ll keep you posted.

Astrology is a gateway toward greater understanding.

If you are very emotional type, with great highs and lows of your chart is probably Water Dominant. Water Signs are intuitive, feel their way through life long for deep emotional attachment.

If you have an array of air planets you an “ideas” person concerned with mental connections, they are emotionally detached.

With an abundance of earth planets you are prone to conservatism; you are interested in long term results. Practical is the name of the game.

Planets in fires sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) live life with gusto, they are like shining stars basking in the limelight, cheerful and ready to GO GO GO!

Of course you have to look at the entire chart when analyzing, but if you find yourself flinging dishes when you are angry and your partner is calm which infuriates you even more as he says “lets talk about this in the morning” while sweeping up the pieces, please know you are coming from a place of water and he is earth oriented

  1. You aren’t weird lol the placement of the moon in the chart is where you see fluctuations and changes so no matter what sign the moon is in you may see a lot of ups and downs. They say those that lack earth A marry someone practical -projection I suppose so we don’t have to deal with earthy stuff or we become obsessed with practical stuff you sound just about right to me!

  2. Hi Danielle,

Loved your article. This speaks to me a lot. I am also earth deficient – only 1 planet in earth: Mercury in Taurus. However, I have, uh, shall we say, a different story. I am obsessed with organization and details. I don’t know why.

Let’s see… I’m a slob. I hate cleaning our house. I’d rather go out or read or work. Oh, those dishes would stay with cockroaches for all I care. But I always tell myself, “I will be organized… tomorrow.”

But the thing is, when it comes to the things that matter to me, I don’t know, I become… anal… I want to control things… Those little details that I know, which may not be useful to others, or which would annoy others, but for me… they’re like… resources…

I love routine… just not too much. I call them rituals. Coffee in the morning and in the afternoon to make me feel like a human being. Imagine me not having a daily dose… a nightmare to work with! Long baths in the evening… Checklists of things to do… I’m a perfectionist with all the issues that come with being one. Oh, I love being a perfectionist. Making things perfect is joy for me. I just need to be careful that I won’t hurt others along the way.

I can see Taurus or Virgo… right? I have Moon in the 6th house, by the way.

No routine at work… I hate it… I don’t like doing the same thing from 9 to 5. 9 to 5 is okay, so long as my mind is working overtime.

I don’t know, its like I am obsessed because I don’t feel grounded. I don’t feel practical. So I do my best to become one. I could have chosen writing as my career, but my mind said, “that’s not practical” – so I became an accountant.

Am I weird or what? 🙂

  3. I’m also earth deficient and have cardinal T square. I have not one earth planet in my chart. I wish I had some earth so I was better organized and handled daily routine duties better. Ugh!

  4. I am spamming your blog today, I just can’t help but laugh out loud. Window treatments are so ridiculous. I have hard enough time remembering to close the blinds.
