Saturn Opposite Jupiter Transit; A Crisis of Faith

Published December 19, 2016 by starsmoonandsun

Perhaps I should have called my first post on Saturn opposite Jupiter transit “a crisis of faith” that’s what it is really and the closer the orb gets the greater the crisis will be I imagine. Make it till January Danielle that’s all you have to do I tell myself while some days I am so lethargic and want to cry a lot!

I can be a runner in some ways but I have decided to face my shit so I’m not carrying it with me into following years. When sad in typical Cancer fashion I stay home call out sick for a week and nurse my wounds. This time I have decided to confront my wounds head on. Only then Can you heal them

Jupiter governs the 9th house in astrology home to religion, beliefs, politics when Saturn is in hard aspect to Jupiter via transit your beliefs come into question. I have found people have been talking to me about “God” more so than ever before I was checking in a guest and he asked me if there was a god a colleague of mine wanted to know why people post pray for Syria what does that mean if god existed would this be happening ? I don’t believe in god not in the sense that one man is in the clouds dictating our lives. I have never believed in God like that my guest called me a Humanist when I explained this to him. I shy away from labels generally speaking. How very Aquarius rising of me
I encountered an issue recently that set me back financially and a disappointment in my love life that was harsh. Disappointment can be debilitating to me I am often naturally so hopeful. Disappointments in love are not an anomaly I have Saturn in the 7th house it sort of comes with the territory. This year numerologicaly (universally) has been a nine year it is said it is the end of a cycle and I can see a montage of bad relationships choices laid out in front of me. The culmination of bad choices I refuse to carry with me into 2017! I refuse.

Stop putting Hope in false prophets may be another Saturn opposite Jupiter catch phrase . “I release the pattern within my consciousness that created this condition” is one of my daily Louise Hay Affirmations I’m forever drawn to melancholic men that wear sadness like a cloak. The next one has to be happy I tell myself that should be the #1 criteria You can’t save anyone shit sometimes you can even love them, they won’t let you.

“when you have lived in a Dungeon for a very long time the light when you see it can actually hurt your eyes” – Marianne Williamson

So here is Saturn calling me on my Jupiterian beliefs I believe in Law of Attraction I believe in working with the cycles of your life I love Eckhart Tolle and Abraham Hicks I believe (such a Jupiter word) in those teachings so now it’s time to find practical application for them (Saturn) I have a social media account that’s compromised of astrology but also of spiritual contexts I can tweet Louise Hay all day but if I’m not living it well that’s just bullshit. You aren’t what you say you will do….you are what you do. (Ah a major 2016 lesson) so it’s time to get real (Saturn) about my spirituality (Jupiter) it’s time to go to work on it. It’s time to wake up and go balls to the wall with my faith. Transcend my own man made prison, change my subconscious limiting beliefs, not crumble in the face of dissapointment and truly believe that “everything is working out for me” I’ll drag my ass out of bed one day at a time one affirmation at a time one mediation at a time with the belief (Jupiter) with in the next 4 weeks I will be shiny and new

“you’re needy” the air and water sign dilemma

Published September 25, 2016 by starsmoonandsun

I have been called needy before I have been told I require too much attention. I attract mostly air sign men though Libra and Gemini will be the two that most often label me this. Something about Aquarius suns they understand me most they really get me out of all the air signs. Perhaps that is because I have Aquarius rising.

I am not needy and laugh at the utter absurdity of labeling me as such. But generally speaking I dislike labels. I have an Aries Moon this it itself means I do not need anyone (the moon rules your needs and Aries is the sign of self). I am comfortable alone, I am actually quite the loner not particularly social So when someone labels me needy I really want to tell them instead of affixing me with such an insulting adjective why don’t you apologize for having the inability to actually meet my needs. Isn’t that really the case when someone calls you needy? This is their way of confessing they have an inability to give you what you desire

“People only see you from their level of perception”

Water and Air signs do not understand one another on an ego level…on an identity level. Though I am inclined to say water signs appreciate air signs intelligence I love someone intelligent it’s admirable to be well read to know facts and figures on topics I have really no strong interest in.  I as a Cancer sun can celebrate the more cerebral parts of a person. After all I do have Venus in Gemini and feel that love can first begin in the mind and nothing is as beautiful as a man with a big vocabulary. But I still possess a water sign sun and nothing could describe me more than the quote below:

it-doesnt-interest-me-in-what-you-do-for-a-living

But we live in a society where intellect and achievement is valued over intuition and feeling. And here is where water signs are often labeled needy…our contributions aren’t celebrated like air signs and air signs rarely if ever can understand us. I am not sure they even try; sometimes I feel they are quick to dismiss us so easily feeling swept up under a wave of our emotion.

Air signs project qualities onto us without actually communicating or asking what we need or desire they so often think they know everything.

I dated a Gemini man that would always say to me “I don’t want to talk about having children”  this man assumed I wanted children he never even bothered to ask me …I surely would have  told him I don’t want any.

They see us only through their level of perception and that level of perception is what they think we need/feel/desire without having any real knowing of what we need/feel/desire

Air signs need to be free and have the most difficult times relating to others on an emotional level. If you think of air it’s the breath and they need plenty of room to breathe and roam. Air signs never want to feel held down they have the fear of suffocation…that’s an air sign for you. They filter everything through the mind and love if anything has no place being sorted out through intellect. It must be felt.

Water signs however use intuition to process everything we are formless like air yet we seek someone to house us and be our container. Water signs seek to emotionally connect, we want to merge with you on a soul level we want you to house and be a safe place for our ever changing emotional states.

Water signs use touch and non verbal communication as modes of expression

So while air signs tend to think we are all up there ass we are simply communicating without words how much we like/admire/desire them

Air signs use words as a means of expression.

I do believe this can be sorted out if water signs would allow air signs that room to breathe and if air signs would acknowledge and celebrate that we don’t need them we merely connect through physical and intimate expression.

I think water and air have a great deal to teach one another with air encouraging water to be more rational and detached and with water teaching air to get out of their head and into their heart. Water can teach air that in essence not everything that counts can be counted.

Liz Greene writes in her book “relating”

“The airy type has a problem with feeling…because feelings like everything else which comes under his microscopic eye cannot be classified, structured, analyzed or fitted into the framework”

She goes onto say about the air signs

“His richest relationships will be with the feeling types for they are both his greatest fascination and the reflection of his own inner self”

Greene goes on to mention that water signs have a “problem with reason”

And that “water is magnetically attracted to air and if these two types could cease their endless skirmishing they could learn much from each other about their own unconscious lives”

For a long time now I feel we should just accept people as they are without labeling them one thing or another. The truth of the matter is people cannot be boxed in, we are multifaceted human beings and often the things we love about someone are the same features we devalue overtime. (See the Before Sunrise trilogy) Water signs are drawn to air signs for the way they can be objective and analytical and air signs love water for their creative energy and for having a way of tapping into what the air sign needs on a subconscious level to diminish and weaken these connections with adjectives such as needy (water signs) and shallow (Air signs) is an assault on the very soul of what we love most about one another.

Sins of the Father a little Astrological Karmic Inheritance

Published November 22, 2015 by starsmoonandsun

I’m more into predictive astrology and synastry then karmic astrology but the other day I sparked my own interest when tweeting about Charlie Sheens natal Sun conjunct Uranus.  Forgive me one other post will follow this about Denise Richards as per a request. I know some of you in boxed me wanting me to do Gwen Stefani but it is very difficult for me to do the astrology of people that I find tremendously dull

Last week I quoted Charlie Sheen on Twitter

“I’m tired of pretending like I’m not special. I’m tired of pretending like I’m not bitchin’, a total freakin’ rock star from Mars.”

He has natal Sun conjunct Uranus

charlie sheen natal

In Astrologer Adrian Ross Duncan’s book Astrology Transformation and Empowerment his chapter entitled Sun-Uranus visiting Planet Earth he writes

People with this aspect “tend to zoom out and view things dispassionately as if they were from outer space (and some complain that they feel as if they are)”

I began to wonder about Martin Sheens parenting with this aspect, not knowing much about him I would learn he was an alcoholic and not a very hands on father and to quote Emilo Etevez

‘My father and mother, neither of them cared if Larry Fishburne [Sheen’s teenage co-star] and I jumped in a jitney and went to Manila for the weekend. President Marcos was in power, martial law was in effect, and you were shot on sight if you were seen on the street after 1am. What were they thinking?’ He says he recently asked his parents that very question. Their reply was, ‘We had four of you. If we had to lose one, we would. We were just trying to survive.’

The article goes on to describe Martin Sheen as “erratic” a word in astrology we would indeed use to describe Aquarius/Uranus energy.  Aquarius and Uranus in hard aspect (conjunction, square and opposition) to personal planets indicates where we say fuck the system. I have Aquarius rising, I have my own issues with “the man” lol Uranus square Saturn Authority? What is that!

Charlie has Sun square Uranus and the Aquarius Midheaven. The Midheaven indicates both how he is viewed by the public-erratic, changeable etc and it also gives a glimpse into his father

The Sun in the natal chart rules the father by sign, house placement and aspects along with the Midheaven. Both Emilio and Charlie have Uranus in hard aspect to the Sun and as I combed through countless articles of Charlie and Martin Sheen I quietly wondered if Martin Sheen has ever claimed any accountability regarding the condition of his adult son.

This got me thinking of the karmic inheritance in natal charts. I have done a lot of readings and have often noticed patters Sun square Saturn; inheriting the fathers melancholic/depressive nature. I have seen up to four generations that have Sun square Saturn in the natal chart. My own father had Sun and Pluto as a part of a Stellium and I have Sun square Pluto in a configuration an astrological inheritance of intensity, loner mentality and the need to confront the darker parts of the identity. And with sun in hard aspect to Uranus there is a need to buck the system, to be unapologetically you and this tells of indeed an erratic father.

Some quotes on hard Sun/Uranus aspects

Any contacts between the Sun and Uranus “signifies unusual parents and unusual childhood environment” “The influence of the father is important, he is unorthodox and unusual man in some way” – Astrologer Betty Lundsted

Sun Conjunct Uranus “The life will be unusual perhaps erratic” Any contact between Sun and Uranus indicates “unusual behavior can range from unorthodox on a healthy level to all kinds of perversity”. The person with Sun conjunct Uranus has to learn to channel the energy of the aspect or he will be controlled by it” Parents have problems raising this child for the child picked up the father’s unorthodox behavior” –Betty Lundsted

“There are several possibilities. It is unlikely that there was real intimacy with the father, though likely there was a lot of excitement connected with him” “The child gets use to not knowing whether the father is going to be there or whether he will be friendly an remote. Anything could happen, emotional dissociation  takes place.

Martin Sheen does not have this aspect natal but I wonder if his parenting or perceived parenting or lack of parenting kicked off generations of sun aspecting Uranus that will need to be reconciled.

Starting with Charlie and Emilio and is very apparent in the charts of Charlies Children

Casandra Estevez born with Sun conjunct Uranus like Charlie

Lola Sheen Sun Square Uranus

Max and Bob Sheen Sun conjunct Uranus like Charlie

Sam Sheen Charlies first child with Denise Richard is the only child that does not have Sun in hard aspect to Uranus perhaps Charlie Sheen was sober when she was conceived, She does have Sun in Pisces which can AT TIMES NOT ALL THE TIME indicate a father with addiction issues.

I believe it was Jung that wrote

“Among all possible ghosts that haunt man the spirits of the parents possess the greatest significance”

I wish more people thought of this before carelessly bringing children into the world

Aquarius; born to stand out

Published February 2, 2014 by starsmoonandsun

I’m on this kick of embracing your natal placements for better or worse. Saturn in the 7th you will not defeat me, you bastard! Reading tweets from someone on twitter that is an Aquarius inspired me to write this post. Aquarius are different, they are eccentric, they are born free and in a way I don’t believe they can be tied to anyone and anything completely. This could be said for Aquarius Sun, Aquarius Rising and Aquarius Moon. We are detached, air signs we are independent thinkers (I have Aquarius Rising). My Astrology Instructor said we are either excluded from the group or we lead a group but we are never fully amerced in the group. We are not a part of the group. We have to own that. Often Aquarian types take on causes that involve issues surrounding equality due to the fact we never felt equal.

I will share with you a story, as a child I was the only kid in my private school with one parent. I hated private school and all the cookie cutter kids that resembled paper doll cut outs.
paperdoll
Each one a carbon copy of the next. Father’s day was a bitch, all those cards we had to make and I was the only one with no father. Never mind the fact that my birthday fell in July and wasn’t privy to any class parties. I didn’t really give a shit, and often the teachers would call my mother and report their concern that I wasn’t playing jump rope with other children. How very Aquarian of me

I don’t give a crap about identifying with groups. I never follow the majority, when I’m in work meetings and no one stands up and speaks the truth; I do. I say this company sucks! You aren’t delivering the goods. I’m a Union Member yes but I’m actually an elected Union Representative fighting for the rights of my colleagues, insuring union rules are followed, insuring they are treated fairly. I have tried to donate time to the Innocence Project, but unfortunately I don’t have much to offer in terms of a legal background. I believe strongly in people’s right to a fair trial. As unpopular of an opinion as it may be; I feel people like Scott Peterson should have been acquitted…not because I think he didn’t do it but because convicting someone without evidence puts our entire judicial process up for review.

My opinions are endless and not necessarily popular, but I didn’t give a shit as a kid and I certainly do not now. I will keep speaking my truth, I will keep being true to myself and I encourage everyone to do the same.

Ruler of the 11th house home to groups, organizations, networking, astrology, hopes, and wishes

You will have a strong Aquarian signature in your chart if you have Uranus (Aquarius ruling planet) on an angle (1st, 4th, 7th & 10th house)

You are more likely to own your individuality if Uranus is in pleasing aspect to your Sun and Moon via trine aspect or sextile. This is often indicative of parents whom encouraged your individuality or you possess a certain ease with your own quirky aspects.
I have noticed those with Uranus in the 12th house (not on the Ascendant) tend to mask their individuality, they hide it, they have a desire to appear “normal” to blend in where as those with Uranus Conjunct the Sun or Moon are in your face different, in your face rebellious. Think Charlie Sheen Tiger blood. People with Uranus in Square moon or sun wrestle and struggle with incorporating the eccentric parts of their selves whereas the opposition will take turns acting out the sun or moon and then suddenly breaking off and doing something Uranian and wildly independent.

Just taking a moment to offer words of encouragement to everyone, explore your individuality, own that parts of yourself that make you unique. Don’t be another paper doll cut out; after all you are in good company

How to determine the ruler of the houses in the houses

Published January 18, 2014 by starsmoonandsun

Last week I found myself telling my coworker “I didn’t give birth to anyone here. No one came out of my vagina” Vulgar yes, truthful hmmm yes. Two weeks in a row on my day off I was contacted to inquire why two of my grown 30 & over coworkers weren’t at work, another time I was asked when will “so & so” be back; truth be told I had the answers but I just reply “I’m not anyone’s mother” I had to laugh when someone was informing me of someone else’s bad behavior they said, “they never do that when you are around”. I yell like a lot of moms, I suppose… (I don’t believe in yelling at small children PS) I have taken 5 days off due to exhaustion and just to catch up on life, relaxing, yoga, cooking, writing (Nourishing my Natal 5th house Sun) when I decided to whip up some tasty cake pops and handmade chocolates-pictures to follow- for people at work & I thought my god I’m like a mother.

Ya see Cancer the sign of mom-rules my 6th house-the house of work. That means Cancer is on the 6th house cusp. Furthermore the ruler of my 4th house (4th house rules home) is placed in my 6th. Coworkers feel like family(I’m blessed in that sense), work feels like home, perhaps for other people with this combination; they live at the place they work. This thought has brought me to my latest post.

The rulers of the houses in the houses.
It is an integral part of reading a natal chart a detail a lot of people may leave out but one that holds a lot of information. It can show you how someone expresses love how they earn a living, what they value, where they find joy.

I will walk you through it, this is more of an informative post than my typical rant after all I want you to be able to read your own chart and come back and chat with me about what you find.

Here is the natal chart:

20140118-114924.jpg

The Natal Chart consists of 12 houses you can read about them here
http://starsmoonandsun.com/natal-astrology/a-beginners-guide-to-reading-your-natal-chart/

Every house represents an area of life
There are 10 planets (Yes I’m counting Pluto now and always)
The planets in the houses are how you act out those areas of your life. For instance if you have Mars in the 4th house (home of family). Mars is an aggressive planet so you may have a lot of fights with family, put it in the 6th (house of daily activity) disagreements with coworkers, put it in the 10th (career house) your chosen profession may be a police officer.

This is beginner’s stuff you can read my guide here on how to read your natal chart
http://starsmoonandsun.com/natal-astrology/a-beginners-guide-to-reading-your-natal-chart/

And then aside from the houses and the planets there is a sign “on the cusp” or the outer wheel of the natal chart. People often become alarmed when they see an empty house but a house is never really empty it is infused with the sign on the cusp

See that arrow I have Aquarius on my 1st house cusp

20140118-115603.jpg

Start with your rising sign, this is very important, it’s the sign on the 1st house cusp, the first house is you, your appearance, your mannerisms, the way you look, how the world sees you. For instance: I have Aquarius rising, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is found in my 8th house the 8th house rules the occult, the taboo, deep probing psychoanalysis, life and death, transformation. Anyone who knows me knows I’m intense, that I’m continuously on a cathartic process for lack of a better phrase.

Next I go to my 2nd house; the sign on the cusp is Aries See arrow:

is ruled by Mars, Mars is placed in the 3rd house. The 2nd house rules your values, how we earn money, how we spend money, with the ruler (Mars) placed in the 3rd a house that rules communication, writing, mental capabilities, and travel you can tell I earn my 2nd house money via 3rd house activities, I blog, I literally work in the travel industry and I will add that I fiercely (Mars/Aries) stand up for what I believe in.

20140118-120112.jpg

Here are the rulerships of each sign to help you. This is taken from a wonderful book for beginners with beautiful illustrations Called Astrology A Complete Illustrated Guide to The Zodiac by Molly Hall

20140118-120441.jpg

We can see I’m a Cancer, moody, sensitive, and protective, I like to bake; I own a home –all those Cancer things-
My Sun is in the 5th house, the 5th house is dramatic, theatrical, and home to hobbies, dating, romance, fun and risk taking.
Combined you can surmise I’m a cancer that enjoys acting, I m happiest when going to the movies, taken chances, love is a central theme in my life, self expression is a major theme in my life. If I had children they would no doubt be the end all and be all for me.
Now take that a step further and look at the sign on the cusp of the 5th house. Gemini is on my 5th house cusp.

So if the 5th house rules; romance, risk taking self-expression the house the ruling planet is in will show where I have romances, take chances, expression myself. Gemini rules the 5th, the ruler of Gemini is in mercury, mercury is placed in the 6th house; the 6th house rules our daily lives, our work, our coworkers, our pets, and our routine. Put it all together and I express myself daily, I find romances with coworkers, I take chances when it comes to my job. You can do this will all the houses, you should do this with all the houses it will give you a clearer picture of the natal chart potential.

If it is difficult for you to read the signs if you are using astro.com or another software they give you a list of the signs on the cusps that looks like this

20140118-121638.jpg

I have 6th house cusp in Cancer, this makes my moon the ruler; the moon is placed in my 2nd house. And while my 6th house is infused with Cancer energy I defend my coworkers, yes I bake for them if they call at 2am I answer the phone but with the ruler of the 6th being in the 2nd I love to think of this simply; I go to work to earn money. I’m not in any way shape or form identified by my job.

Even if houses seem empty my 7th house (it isn’t Saturn reaches it from the 6th) but there isn’t a planet in there. I still have Leo on the cusp and this infuses the 7th house with Leo like energy. The 7th house rules partnership. I attract Leo types. I like a macho man, a man with a bit of show, someone I can adore. The Sun rules Leo, my sun is in the 5th house of-hobbies, romance, children, love, this indicates I marry for love, I marry someone I can have fun with, I marry someone where there is continuous romance, business partners become Lovers etc.
I once met a man that said to me and I quote: “I am only getting married so I can have children, why else would anyone get married” I almost fell over; I want to marry for nothing short of real deal romantic love. But I have the ruler of the 7th in the 5th…he has the ruler of the 7th in the 4th house of family. You get married to start a family. I love when Astrology is beautiful like that, like a perfect pattern.
Checking the ruler ships also give you insight to family dynamics. The MC or 10th house rules the father (and career path). Look at my 10th house I have Sagittarius on the 10th house cusp, 10th house rules “other countries” my father was not from this country. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, Jupiter is placed in my 4th house which rules the mother…I can’t quite put my finger on it but I think this has something to do with my mother playing both roles; she was my mother and my father.

Let me know what you find in your natal potential xo

The 7th house cusp and my search for true love

Published September 3, 2012 by starsmoonandsun

Last night I browsed through an Astrology book that was written in the 1960’s I read a line that I have read countless times in dozens of books: The ruler of the 7th placed in the 5th indicates marrying for true love not other worldly reasons.

F%#k Really! Sure as a society we like to subscribe to the notion that everyone marries for true love, the glass slipper, the run through the forest the sudden trip on a red robe bumping your head on a log, fall asleep for 20 years and awaken via a kiss by one of the 7 dwarfs as several blue birds swirl around your perfectly quaffed hair. Ah and presto you take off on a magic carpet & you have found true love. I don’t think many people marry for “true love” scratch that I know they don’t, they tell me! I’m the keeper of a billion secrets. Yes they are comfortable and happy to have met a man that offers them financial security or a woman that stays in line and doesn’t spend too much money or ask for too much. The truth is on the route to find true love most people abandon their mission and settle! They pick the person they can live with, or maybe the ruler of their 7th is placed in their 11th house and they marry a friend? Or the ruler of the 7th house is placed in their 4th house and they marry someone that fits in with their family. But me nope I see no giving up because the ruler of my 7th is placed in the 5th house.

I can’t count how many times people have yelled at me “just stay with him” “pick one” “you don’t get it all” The thought is suffocating to me, I mean you still have to have sex with the man that is paying your way. I find no joy in high-class prostitution. Occasionally I blurt out do you do it reverse cowgirl every time? How can you stand to spend the rest of your life with someone that isn’t your true love?

Wasn’t it the Eagles that sang: A big old house gets lonely every form of refuge has its price

I secretly believe in magic! I want to cry when I hear Taylor Swifts Lyrics: “I’m not a princess this ain’t a fairytale”. Wait! What! It isn’t?

The 1st house in astrology represents you, the way you look and present yourself. The 1st house is your rising or ascending sign, for me that is Aquarius; I appear friendly, eccentric, progressive etc. Directly across from the 1st house is your opposing sign on the 7th house cusp. For me that is Leo; proud, regal, showy and limelight loving. The 7th house represents what you seek in a partner, it is said to be what you lack and hope to find in another. While I have a lot of Leo traits with Sun in the 5th house,Im out spoken attention seeking, but I often seek someone that is grander, brighter and yes louder then I’m. For as far back as I can remember I loved the energy of a Leo, I always seek a partner in which I think of them as being someone. Not necessarily a celebrity but someone I can adore and be proud of. Women often tell me: Marry someone who loves you more then you love them. Oh no! That seems so empty though I’m well aware the balance in love is rarely if ever even.

So with Leo on the 7th house cusp and the Sun ruling Leo and my Sun being placed in my 5th house of romance and children…a house ruled by Leo naturally, I have no choice but to seek a marriage in which I find true love. After all Leo does rule the heart A sun placed in the 5th house wants to express themselves creatively in love.  I want to feel inspired to write, I can often be quoted as saying I want to dance with someone when we are 60. I want to sing to my love in the morning and romance cannot be merely in the beginning it has to be always.

What planet rules your 7th house and who are you married too?
