Look Before You Leap; Jupiter Square Neptune

This is an astrological PSA to look before you leap particularly those that have personal planets or angles in Mutable signs; Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces from now until September 21st.  Those that have planets in 14-18 degrees of mutable signs will feel the energy most however as a collective we are being encouraged to look before we leap. I would put off etching anything in stone during this period as anything you think is concrete may amount to nothing more than a mirage.

I would also check on your loved ones with addiction and escapist tendencies as these two planet in combination can produce an over estimation of what is believed to be possible. Meaning a person will be under the false belief that they are ok when in actuality they are not, they can have that drink; they can take that chance and drive that car etc.

Most nobly under the current influence of the Jupiter/Neptune spell is Brooke Mueller (if you are unfamiliar with her please feel free to Google).  She has several planets being directly influenced by Jupiter and Neptune, luckily she has reportedly checked into a rehabilitation facility and I hope she is getting the tools she needs to work through these chaotic times.

Jupiter in astrology is the where we feel a general sense of optimism (unless adversely aspected) it is where we take leaps of faith and live with an expectation that things will work out.

Neptune in astrology is associated with escapism; it is what we don’t see clearly and where we have on rose colored glasses.

A square aspect is indicative of tension.

This is the last Jupiter/Neptune square in a series of 3; the first being January 13, the 2nd being June 16 and the last being September 21st.

How to best use this energy

  • Put off major life choices until October
  • Align with a spiritual practice.
  • Read the fine print & I don’t just mean in a literal sense
  • Remember “even salt looks like sugar” don’t let appearances fool you
  • Watch the excess; this can be anything from shopping to over eating to drinking
  • Ask yourself is this real? Is what is being presented actually what is happening?

The Astrology of King Henry VIII & His Wives

King Henry

I recently began watching The Spanish Princess on Starz; it is based on the early life of Catherine of Aragon and the rocky path she traveled to become the first wife of Henry VIII and the Queen of England. The way the relationship is displayed on the show Catherine and Henry had a natural affinity toward one another.

According to the website: www.historyextra.com

“He adored her: she was, we are told, ‘the most beautiful creature in the world’. She was 23, plump and pretty, and had beautiful red-gold hair that hung below her hips. Henry spoke openly of the joy and felicity he had found with Catherine.”

I believe that Henry loved Catherine of Aragon – I believe she is reflected perfectly in his natal chart. Prior to comparing a couple’s synastry we have to look at each partners natal potential.

Henry’s moon sign was in the bold sign of the warrior; Aries. The Moon sign reflects what Henry needed and sought in a woman combined with Venus and the 7th house. When you google Catherine of Aragon; one of the first phrases to pop up are the words: Catherine of Aragon daughter of the Warrior Queen. (The moon also reflects how we experienced our mother)

You can read more about women with Aries Moon here:
ARIES MOON WOMEN AKA WARRIOR QUEENS

Catherine of Aragon

Catherine of Aragon was not some wife that was seen but not heard. She was the true embodiment of the Aries Moon attributes (she too possessed an Aries Moon) while Henry was off at battle it was her that he left in charge to command forces; serving as Regent. It is rumored she even put on Armor and was prepared to fight.  She was many things including a survivor having to live in “aristocratic poverty” in between her marriage to Arthur and Henry.

Henry also had Venus in Gemini; while many sites contribute this to his fickle love nature Venus in Gemini also strongly suggests he valued a woman that was intelligent and interesting. Catherine was highly educated and studied a variety of subjects from law to dance to genealogy and weaving to name a few. Her natal Mercury was in Sagittarius while this may be in detriment it does indicate someone that is high-minded. Some sites even state Catherine was a pioneer for women’s education.

Pioneer by the way is another Aries Moon adjective.

Henry has Venus elevated, you can see it all the way up near the Midheaven this does suggest a variety of things; marrying someone that can enhance your status is one manifestation. Venus in the 10th house is not the most comfortable of placements; it does suggest relationships have an element of formality.  Henry marrying Catherine was a Venus in the 10th house affair;  Henry had a lot to gain from being with Catherine considering Spain was a powerful ally.  I do believe this was a mutually beneficial relationship; Catherine had the Sun in Capricorn the Sun is what a woman seeks in a man and Capricorn is a sign that is concerned with status (though it has various ways of manifesting). His Sun also conjoins her Midheaven indicating this is a man she thought could assist her with accomplishing her worldly ambitions and life goals.

When we superimpose Henry and Catherine’s charts on top of one another we can see they have:

Moon conjunct Moon; this strongly suggests they had similar needs and can find they are at home with one another quite easily.

Henry’s Saturn conjoins Catherine’s Venus; this shows the coming together.  I have no doubt at all that this aspect alone strongly contributed to them enduring 24 years of marriage.

Catherine’s North Node (The North Node indicates where we are headed) falls in Henry’s 7th house which tells us this relationship was destined. This doesn’t necessarily indicate long term success but it does reveal that this connection is one that will assist both parties in terms of spiritual development.

abbe boleyn.jpg

When we look at Anne Boleyn natal chart she has Venus in Aries; here we  find another woman that is the embodiment of what Henry sought in a woman. When I google her I find an array of terms; a bitch, a feminist, bold, mean and ill tempered. Let me first say women with personal placements in Aries believe we can do whatever a man can do. We consciously or unconsciously make strides toward uniting the gender gap. With the Moon and Venus being feminine planets placed in Aries a masculine sign you can see how this manifests.

I will say this as well about Aries placements we are not necessarily moral but we are certainly selfish. Aries has a strong desire to be first. Venus in Aries has no desire to play 2nd fiddle to another woman.

While Anne had her natal Sun placed in slow moving Taurus she had a dignified Mercury in Gemini which would contribute to her being an interesting conservationist and someone that was quick witted.

Anne has 2 charts erected with different times of birth I am using the one that places the moon in Pisces as that is the one that makes sense based on the events that have taken place.

Anne had her Natal Sun in the 10th house similar to Catherine of Aragon  this is woman that wants a man that is “someone”. She is attracted to men that are in charge and have power.

Anne Boleyn had her natal moon in the dreamy sign of Pisces; her moon conjoined Henry’s Descendant. The Descendant represents the qualities we often reject in ourselves and seek in a mate. I live for 7th house overlays to be honest and though relationships can thrive without them I prefer to see them in synastry. When a person’s moon falls in our 7th house you desire to be emotionally close with them; this relationship is based on feelings. We have a sense of connecting with lost parts of ourselves when a person’s personal planets fall in our 7th house; it is a powerful connection.

When we look at the house overlays we also see

Henry’s Venus in Gemini conjoined Anne’s Mercury in Gemini I believe this is the aspect that strongly contributed to his desire to express his affection verbally through letters. When Mercury makes an aspect to another person’s Venus we enjoy speaking to them, with these planets being in Gemini I believe this element is strongly enhanced. Communication can even become flowery and romantic.

Henry’s Moon in Aries also formed an almost perfect conjuction to Anne’s Venus in Aries. I have personally had this aspect with someone (In Aries) and I can tell you it is romantic and affectionate. When the moon meets Venus the 2 parties can have a telepathic link with one another and a desire to dance, listen to music and enjoy life is strongly enhanced in one another’s presence.

If you read King Henry’s love letters to Anne you will find this aspect  speaks for itself.

anne of cleves.jpg

Anne of Cleves was the only other wife with a published date of birth. Henry had this marriage annulled and it is widely reported he found Anne of Cleves unattractive. I personally find her to be one of the more interesting of the women he married.  She was a Libra Sun oddly considering she never remarried. However that Libra Sun reports to her natal Venus in Virgo. Venus in Virgo can very much be the sign of the single woman. If we take a look at the 9 of Pentacles in Tarot; this is the card associated with Venus in Virgo. Here we find a woman in a lavish garden surrounded by all she needs.

Out of all the wives I think she made out best with homes, a full staff as well as financial compensation.  Most importantly she was not locked away or beheaded. We do not have Anne of Cleves birth time so I cannot tell in which house Henry’s Venus and Jupiter fall for her.  You will often find one person financially benefiting from another with hard Venus/Jupiter contacts or Jupiter/Venus falling in  the others 2nd or 8th house. I am not sure as to why she benefited from him nor can I say why he found her unattractive other than the fact that Anne of Cleves was a Libra Sun and Mercury. Libra is the sign opposing Henry’s Moon in Aries. With that being said her Sun formed an opposition to his Moon which strongly suggests this was a Karmic connection. Perhaps with her natal Jupiter conjunct his natal Sun for reasons unbeknownst to us she manifested a level of generosity with in him. Jupiter has an expansive nature. Could it be that her Jupiter in Cancer conjoining his Sun in Cancer -the sign of family-was the reason she became known as “The Kings Beloved Sister”? Interesting to note Anne of Cleves Libra planets Sun, Mercury and Mars fell in the Kings natal 2nd house. The 2nd house is how and where we spend our money.

Saturn Opposite Jupiter Transit; A Crisis of Faith

Perhaps I should have called my first post on Saturn opposite Jupiter transit “a crisis of faith” that’s what it is really and the closer the orb gets the greater the crisis will be I imagine. Make it till January Danielle that’s all you have to do; that is what I tell myself.

I can be a runner in some ways but I have decided to face my shit so I’m no longer carrying it with me. When sad in typical Cancer fashion I call out sick and stay home for a week to nurse my wounds. This time I have decided to confront my them head on. After all we can’t heal what we refuse to face.

Jupiter governs the 9th house in astrology home to religion, beliefs, and politics when Saturn is in hard aspect to Jupiter via transit your beliefs come into question. I have found people have been talking to me about “God” more so than ever before.  I was checking in a guest and he asked me if God exists, a colleague wanted to know why people post Pray for Syria and if God existed would this be happening? I don’t believe in God- not in the sense- one man is in the clouds dictating our lives. I have never believed in God like that. My guest called me a Humanist when I explained this to him. I shy away from labels generally speaking. How very Aquarius rising of me

I encountered an issue recently that set me back financially and a disappointment in my love life that was harsh. Disappointment can be debilitating to me I am naturally so hopeful. Disappointments in love are not an anomaly I have Saturn in the 7th house it sorts of comes with the territory. This year numerologicaly (universally) has been a nine year this signifies the end of a cycle.  I can see a montage of bad relationships choices laid out in front of me. The culmination of bad choices I refuse to carry with me into 2017! I refuse.

Stop putting hope in false prophets may be another Saturn opposite Jupiter catch phrase. “I release the pattern within my consciousness that created this condition” is one of my daily Louise Hay Affirmations I’m forever drawn to melancholic men that wear sadness like a cloak. The next one has to be happy I tell myself that should be the #1 criteria You can’t save anyone shit sometimes you can’t even love them; they won’t let you.

“When you have lived in a Dungeon for a very long time the light when you see it can actually hurt your eyes” – Marianne Williamson

So, here is Saturn calling me on my Jupiterian beliefs. I believe in Law of Attraction I believe in working with the cycles of your life I love Eckhart Tolle and Abraham Hicks I believe (such a Jupiter word) in those teachings so now it’s time to find practical application for them (Saturn) I have a social media account that’s comprised of astrology but also of spiritual texts I can tweet Louise Hay all day but if I’m not living it well that’s just bullshit. You aren’t what you say you will do…. you are what you do. (Ah a major 2016 lesson) so it’s time to get real (Saturn) about my spirituality (Jupiter) it’s time to go to work on it. It’s time to wake up and go balls to the wall with my faith. Transcend my own man-made prisons, change my subconscious limiting beliefs, not crumble in the face of disappointment and truly believe that “everything is working out for me”.  I will drag my ass out of bed and one day at a time, one affirmation at a time, one mediation at a time align with the belief (Jupiter) that within the next 4 weeks when this transit is over, I will be shiny and new.

Saturn the Buzz Kill to Jupiter

I am tired, drained really, I do not have much energy and I feel the energy I do have is spent doing what I have to do, I don’t really have any excess to do the things I want to do. I have the Sun in the 5th house my identity, my journey if you will is centered around love and creativity. The 5th house is the house of joy; being weighed down with extra responsibilities is exhausting.

It is very important that you tend to your natal Sun, that you nourish it with the activities suggested by the house that it is placed in. 6th house Sun, fitness time and order will really help you flourish. If you have a 9th house Sun schedule a vacation or attend a lecture. Wherever our Sun is placed we need to remember to feed it.

Energetically I always run very high I have Sun square Moon, a Cardinal T square in my chart along with a Grand Fire Trine. Cardinal signs are doers. My Mom said she was going to buy me a makeup bag that read “I am busy” because I always am. I laugh at people that have the time to correct my grammatical errors on twitter, I am pretty sure they aren’t doing all that I do in a day. Running, going, writing, working, giving readings, taken a class, on and on and on until this week I hit a wall.

The culprit; Saturn is opposite my Jupiter via transit

Saturn Rules

  • Responsibility
  • Time
  • Work
  • Boundaries
  • Lessons
  • Practicality Zzzzzzz

According to Jeanne Avery in Astrological Aspects Your Inner Dialogs

Saturn “describes shoulds, musts, and ought’s”

“Saturn is the testing ground of life and indicates the greatest karmic lesson to be learned”

I don’t do Saturn very well.

I believe if you look to the natal chart you will see how hard a transit for you will be. Not all astrologers believe this; I think if you are heavy say Plutonian Pluto transits will be easier for you because you are familiar with that energy. I have Pluto square my Sun, opposite my Moon exact, trine Jupiter, sextile Saturn, Neptune & Midheaven and trine my Ascendant. Pluto is woven into me, death and rebirth it all comes naturally. I just finished a Pluto opposite Sun square Moon transit and it was pretty much all gravy.

But Saturn transits god you can find me lying in bed weeping.

I am just not very good with rules and structure I prefer to be free floating.

Saturn is now opposing my natal Jupiter in the 4th house it will be exact on New Year’s Eve Oh the joy

Jupiter Represents

  • Expansion
  • Optimism
  • Good Luck
  • Joy

“The Jupitarian quality is a marvelous combination of practicality and enthusiasm. The reverse quality is disappointment. If the aim is too high and the goals are missed the individual can be paralyzed by the letdown” –Jeanne Avery

You want to look where Jupiter and Sagittarius are placed in your natal chart to see where you feel lucky or optimistic. I have Sagittarius on my Midheaven, I think this gives me a hope that things will work out and when they don’t, I would say I am greatly disappointed. I usually work from an inner knowing which stems from my natal Jupiter in the 4th house. The 4th house is the root of the chart and reflects what we carry deep within us among other things. So, I have never been a 5-year planner I am a go with the flow listen to my own guidance sort of person.

I intuit mostly everything I do. I announced the other day at work I was booking a trip to Machu Piccchu and my colleague said Oh Peru…I had no idea where it even was! I sort of get called to do things

I have written before that I do not feel Jupiter brings us lotto wins or grand romances, I think it infuses the planet or house with an optimism and belief that everything will be ok and usually it is until it isn’t.

And that brings me to Saturn opposite Jupiter

Saturn squashes the belief, the optimism, the joy that Jupiter holds. It tests (Saturn always tests) your beliefs, your truths, your inner workings (if Jupiter is in the 4th house).

Robert Hand writes in his book Planets in Aspect about Saturn opposite Jupiter transit

“During this time your opportunities for growth and expansion are limited”.

PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO F&%ING TIRED TO DO ANYTHING

“You often feel as if your personal freedom is unduly limited by others”.

“This transit is a useful if not always pleasant encounter with reality”

Saturn squelches the joy and optimism of Jupiter don’t let anyone ever tell you any different.

For those of you that have this natal oppositions can work like a swinging door so you can be optimistic, joyful, overly eager and then fall victim to Saturn the disappointment, melancholy, and depression can kick in. Robert Plletier writes in “Planets in Aspect” those that have this natal

“You fluctuate between knowing what you are worth to having doubts about your value”

I know this isn’t the worst transit, (those will happen for me in 2018 when Saturn enters Capricorn, I seriously just finished recovering from Saturn in Libra) that’s the beauty that comes with age when you are young you think this will never end, when you are older and know astrology you can simply open your ephemeris and say I may have to drag my uninspired tired ass all the way through December but as of January 1st this transit is over and I can go back to being my high energy manic self perhaps with a few lessons in the bag.

Jupiter transits Yes they are overrated

I decided to write a short post on Jupiter for everyone that emails me and asks if it delivers love. I think it was said best by my astrology instructor when he said “Jupiter is nothing more than a nice day”. Jupiter is said to rule abundance, optimism, risk taking, and the belief that everything will work out. Jupiter in the natal chart is said to bestow protection in the house it is located. Jupiter is expansive; it’s the natural inclination to go overboard because we are protected in that area. I have Jupiter in the 4th house in my natal chart I have a protective mother but I was also a wild child; I think I have good luck with real-estate. I do love my condo, I found it on craigslist and; it’s a place I never imagined I could afford to live in ….But Jupiter via transit has not been impressive. In the last few years I have experienced a Jupiter return, Jupiter conjunct Venus, Jupiter square moon, Jupiter conjunct sun & a Jupiter transit through the 5th house. Jupiter hasn’t delivered much except perhaps some strength to endure the more difficult, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto transits. Jupiter bestows the occasional break, the “I will prevail” but miraculous, grandiose love affairs, sweeping lotto wins uh that would be a no.
A Jupiter transit is quick taking roughly 1 year to transit a sign right now it is at the end of Cancer and will enter Leo on July 17, 2014; by this time next year it will have entered my 7th house. No grand expectations here. I suggest you release yours as well. The hard transits from Saturn, Uranus & Pluto are the ones that shape you, change you, shake up your world. Truth be told Jupiter hardly registers it’s a blip, a pebble; nothing more than a good day

Composite Sun Oh so Random Post

I started to think about the composite sun while having a conversation with someone today. The Sun in the composite chart is the soul of a union, partnership, friendship etc. This person mentioned I know more about them than anyone else at our job. He mentioned he is very private. I already knew this, his sun is conjunct his Nadir more commonly known as the IC or 4th house cusp.

The Nadir is one of the four angles, each angle ruling a different facet of life. It is also one of the karmic houses along with 8th and 12th. The 4th house rules our family, our ancestry, our roots, our home base, it rules the mother, real estate, the unconscious, the hidden, and it’s the lowest part of the chart and represents the beginning of life and the end of life. From the womb the start of life to the tomb the end of life where we are buried under ground. The Nadir or 4th house cusp is the lowest part of the natal chart.

Together this person and I have a composite 4th house Sun. When he said that I know more about him I immediately remembered our composite 4th house Sun and admired the fact that astrology can often be obvious. No need to go looking at asteroids and searching for fixed stars. If it is written it should be right there in plain view. None of this his Karma conjuncts my Psyche and trines the 5th house cusp. No. The 4th house rules midnight. We met late at night, we met while working overnight.  I find that to be perfect if not even funny.

and here

http://astrologystudy.blogspot.com/2012/08/composite-houses-and-4-clusters.html

The Composite sun and moon give indicators as to the purpose of the relationship   (A relationship can be a spouse, a friend, an employer, a lover, a parent). The sun often being the focal point of the relationship of the 2 parties involved you can follow the aspects to see how it plays out.

The composite 4th house Sun often builds a home together, this is not my particular experience but I have found myself saying “you feel like home to me” there is an ease when communicating with this person and I feel like I have known them always in a way. Familiarity and a certain level of comfort exist, I suppose. The literal manifestation as us having met late at night and I can attest to the fact that something is private about the connection with him. I do not speak about him to others. Or I guess I should say I rarely do, but not my inner workings, not my thoughts or feelings. Under different circumstances I think I could have cared deeply for him as a composite 4th house suggests…but that’s a whole other post. You get the gist comfort; home, familiarity, and privacy are themes. Our composite sun conjuncts Mercury (communication) makes a trine to Uranus and squares Pluto. Text book would say we have a mental connection, accept one another’s eccentricities, but the square from Pluto says nothing here is light. Pluto transforms whatever it touches

I had a dreaded composite 6th house sun with my plutonic love. The 6th house is the house of health, work and servitude! This is not where you want your relationship sun. We also had an exact Sun conjunct Jupiter the planet of excess. Jupiter multiplies whatever it touches your joys and your sorrows. Someone once said we could have never lived a real life together because we would have never gotten anything done. We existed in a bubble (Sun opposite Neptune). There was drinking, slow dancing and music, bubble baths and fire place flickers. On the plus I felt we communicated dare I say telepathically. (You will never understand until you have lived it) But at the end of the day the 6th house is not a happy house, unless you work together. I have a composite 6th house with a coworker, I love her but I don’t want to marry her! Plutonic Love and I knew each other as children. His words: he always liked me. I didn’t like him, we had childhood issues I don’t care to write about it here. But in short I didn’t like him and he would write me letters and god I don’t even know if I read them. Years later we reconnected I was crazy about him, he married someone else. The balance is always off. He still had pictures of us as children handy. (Oh the things we carry with us always). I was not in a good place when showing up on his doorstep 15+ years later. Emotionally I was vulnerable and here in itself lies several Sun in 6th house issues. This is the house of servitude, servant to master, the employee to the boss; one party in the relationship has the upper hand.  Obviously it changes from time to time, who has the power that does not. Often this shows up in extramarital affairs. There is a sense of inequality with the composite 6th house sun. Someone is sacrificing something, I didn’t see it at the time but even in the most perfect circumstances we would have had to sacrifice ourselves to be together. I wouldn’t have believed it at the time I was too busy making deals with god to bring us together, but we would not have made each other happy.  I will also say this position doesn’t particularly cultivate healthy relationships patterns. My personal quote regarding my composite 6th house sun is “you had to accept me at my worst because you could have never had me at my best”.

Composite 12th house Sun

I have a friend we share a composite 12th house sun the 12th house rules self-undoing, secrets; it is also a karmic house like the 4th and the 8th indicating knowing one another in a past life or us sharing past life karma. This house also rules prisons, seclusion, dreams and things we do not see clearly. We are friends only and I can say that we often give one another free passes on bad behavior. When we go out it is always “oh have another drink” “oh you want to hook up with so and so go ahead even if he is bad for you” “you only live once” I try to be conscious of the ways we encourage bad behavior in one another but the 12th house is the house of the unconsciousness so that information is hard to grasp. If either one of us has done something we know no one else would approve of, we call one another. We give the green light to indiscretions. We have Sun trine Jupiter unlike the conjunction it lends to caring and forgiveness without excess, we also have Sun trine Neptune, we drink together listen to music and go to the movies; all Neptunian fields. But I’m not hoping he will save me from myself 😉 we have Sun opposite Pluto similar to the square this isn’t a light friendship. There are power struggles, but this is the 12th house ruled naturally by Pisces and Neptune, forgiveness is offered as is turning a blind eye to anything we do wrong out in the world or to each other.

I would love to hear your composite sun story!
It is also worth a mention I have heard the best synastry in the world will not negate the composite chart. The Composite chart is how your relationship functions as a unit, synastry in basically just chemistry and we all know sometimes the best chemistry isn’t enough to build a life.

Happy New Year Love and Light! xo
