Pisces on the Cusp

On the Cusp of each house is a different sign; this sign infuses the house with energy. We need to look at the sign on the cusp, where the ruling planet of that sign is placed, and which planets are in each house to get a complete picture and understanding of the affairs of that house.

For example, I have Sagittarius on the 10th house cusp. The 10th house governs our goals and aspirations, our father, our career path, what we are known for, and the highest we seek to achieve or attain in this lifetime. My Father was born in Spain, which corresponds with Sagittarius representing far-off places. I was born and reside in the United States. For twenty years, I worked in the travel industry. This also corresponds with my Sagittarius Midheaven, being that Sagittarius governs long-distance travel. Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is placed in my 4th house. I now operate a home-based business, and, finally, Neptune is in my 10th house, reflecting my spiritually based business. This is what I am known for. This is how we break down the energy of each house.

This is also why a house is never empty; we always have a sign on the cusp, infusing the house with energy, and a ruling planet of that sign placed somewhere in the Natal Chart.

Pisces on a house cusp is complex; it rules addictions, escapism, & dreams. While an intuitive sign, Pisces is also a complicated sign that can lack the ability to see clearly. The house with Pisces on the cusp or Neptune inside is an area of life where our judgment may be clouded, where we do not see clearly, where we seek transcendence, and don rose-colored glasses.

Pisces on the 1st house cusp: You are sensitive and intuitive; you pick up vibrations all around you. It is important that you take periodic breaks from others, practice grounding exercises, and choose your company wisely. You easily absorb the energy of those around you. Sometimes others do not see you clearly; they may project fantasies or ideas about who they believe you to be; these projections may have little to do with reality. It is important to develop thicker skin. You usually have an aura of glamour, may excel in photography, and be highly photogenic.

Pisces on the 2nd house cusp: The second house in astrology governs the money we earn, spend, and the items we own. You may earn money through Neptunian-related fields: the arts, photography, or spiritually based businesses. It is essential that you keep track of your expenses. This is a placement where the native glosses over finances or does not want to look at what is monetarily coming in and going out. It is also essential that you get paid what you are worth; sometimes, people with this placement work on donations or do not demand proper compensation. Avoid get-rich-quick schemes and financially pairing with shady types.

Pisces on the 3rd house cusp:  The third house governs early childhood education, communication, and siblings, among other things. You may feel perpetually misunderstood, and in early childhood, you may have had difficulty in school. You may suffer from paranoia or delusions. Your conversation style may be long-winded and directionless, or you may lean toward discussions involving art, music, and spirituality.  You may find it helpful to write down your thoughts before important conversations. This way, you are sure to get your point across and convey what needs to be said directly. This placement can also suggest having a sibling who struggles with mental health or addiction issues.

Pisces on 4th house cusp: The 4th house governs our early childhood, our home and our mother the placement of Pisces on the 4th house cusp has a variety of manifestations one possibility is being raised in a religious or spiritual home environment, another is addictions may be prominent in the family line, the mother may have also been a creative figure or the native may struggle with sorrow linked to the Mother in some manner. If this is your placement, check for leaks before purchasing a home; this placement can indicate water damage, plumbing issues, and flooding. It is essential to have a spiritual practice in your home. This is the place to restore yourself.

Pisces on the 5th house cusp: The 5th house is linked to pleasure, casual dating, self-expression, and creativity. When Pisces is on the 5th house cusp, you must be aware of seeing your lovers through rose colored glasses. This is one of the placements for attracting people with active addiction. Please make sure you see others for who they really are. This can suggest that you are a creative soul who finds pleasure in writing, dancing, watching films, or perhaps working in the entertainment industry.  With the 5th house also ruling parties, you do want to watch the overconsumption of drugs and alcohol.

Pisces on the 6th house cusp: The 6th house is the house of work, habits, and daily activities. When Pisces is on the 6th house cusp, you may work in a drug and alcohol treatment facility or with people who are unable to advocate for themselves. This is also a placement for those who work in spiritual and healing professions. I often see people with this placement struggle with sleep apnea, Lyme disease, and hard-to-diagnose conditions. Please do not allow a medical professional to imply your symptoms are psychosomatic. If this is your placement, please seek an alternative opinion if you do not feel well.

Pisces on the 7th house cusp: Pisces on the 7th house cusp requires great discretion in love, but also in general when connecting to other people. This placement seeks a soul connection but can often attract people in active addiction who want to play out victim/savior dynamics in partnerships, and the result is suffering great disappointment in love. This is not the easiest placement to live with in terms of partnerships. On the lighter end, you may attract partners with planets in Pisces or emotional and creative types. On the more challenging end, you may completely fall head over heels again and again for people you believe are everything you have ever dreamed of, only to find they are not what they seem. This placement requires you to assess who you are involved with and, when in doubt, get a second opinion from friends and family.

Pisces on the 8th house cusp: The 8th house is home to shared resources; in “turned houses,” it represents our spouse or business partners’ finances. It is essential that with this placement, you are aware of your partner’s financial situation and capabilities. This is a placement I would be quite cautious in allowing my partner, personal or professional, to oversee handling our finances. This is a placement that requires a forensic accountant in a divorce due to hidden or mismanaged assets. The 8th house is also associated with creditors, the IRS, and people who handle our finances. This is a placement I often see in the charts of those who have managers siphon or mismanage their money.

Pisces on the 9th house cusp:  The 9th house is connected to long-distance travel, law, politics, higher education, and belief systems. A person with Pisces on the 9th house will likely be very interested in spiritual and religious ideologies. They are often compassionate individuals with a great capacity for empathy and feeling a deep sense of connectedness to the world at large. Think of the Universal Law of One. I would be mindful of the organizations you choose to join with this placement, as you can unintentionally become involved in a cult. Pisces on the 9th house cusp can benefit from spiritual retreats, visits to ashrams, and joining organizations such as the Peace Corps.

Pisces on the 10th house cusp: The 10th house governs our father, our career, our ambitions, and what we are known for in this lifetime. Pisces on the 10th can often speak about a father who had addiction issues, perhaps was a preacher, and in other cases was unknown to the child. In terms of career, like Pisces in the 6th house, Pisces in the 10th house can work in a drug and alcohol facility, work with marginalized members of society as an advocate, therapist, counselor, and in spiritual-related fields, think Tarot, psychic reader, astrologer, etc. Regardless, career paths often cause confusion for those with Pisces on the Midheaven; they will have many professions to choose from as they search for the one that feels right. This can be a place for seeking a dream job. Often, it is said that those of us who have Neptune/Pisces connected to the Midheaven are missing out on parental guidance. We must figure things out ourselves, and that usually comes through trial and error, particularly on the career front.

Pisces on the 11th house cusp: The 11th house rules like-minded friends, hopes, and wishes. It really is the house of networking; this is where we get together with other people that we like or relate to via a shared interest or career affiliation. For some, this can suggest meeting friends through an AA program, for others, a shared spiritual practice like group Reiki. Others may meet friends through groups that come together around a common cause. Because Pisces and Neptune are connected to what we are not seeing clearly, similar to the 9th house, I want you to be mindful of the groups you tie yourself to. I would also be mindful of making sure you can trust your friends. This can be a placement where you attract friendships with more takers than givers, or friends who act as energy vampires.

Pisces on the 12th house cusp: The 12th house is the hidden realm of the zodiac. It governs secrets, the unconscious, isolation, prisons, and what others may not easily see. Pisces naturally belong to this house, and Neptune is at home here. Your dreams may be vivid and meaningful, so keeping a dream journal can be especially helpful. A steady spiritual practice—such as daily meditation, Reiki, or studying the Akashic Records—can also support you. You likely value solitude and may need to withdraw when you feel overstimulated. Be mindful of overgiving or trying to save everyone; your empathy should not come at the cost of your own well-being. Offer compassion and listen, but remember to maintain clear boundaries.
