The Astrology of Joan Jett & Her Rebellious Aquarius Moon

On my flight to Greece recently I watched a documentary about singer-song writer Joan Jett entitled “Bad Reputation”.  I have always felt Joan Jett was an iconic, bad ass chick and this film only solidified that feeling. Her energy pretty much speaks for itself. The entire time I was watching the film I could not help but wonder what her moon sign was. I am not particularly proficient at guessing astrological placements. At first I thought perhaps it was in Aries, since she herself seemed to defy “feminine norms” for that period in time and her band the Runaways was considered “groundbreaking” having challenged the concepts of gender roles in music. When I finally landed and had access to WIFI it made perfect sense to discover Joan Jett has her Moon in the electrifying, non-conformist, futuristic sign of Aquarius.
Aquarius is governed by Uranus (Modern Ruler) which is associated with electricity. Joan Jett was given an electric guitar for Christmas one year. According to a recent New Yorker interview “Joan Jett’s Raw Inclusive Rock and Roll” by Sarah Larson. Shortly after receiving the guitar she took lessons where her teacher advised her “Girls don’t play rock and roll.
“When the Moon is placed in the rebellious sign of Aquarius the native will revolt against social norms.  This is a placement that does not want to be boxed in. Aquarius is a sign that is ahead of society that is why they are symbolized by the water bearer glyph. Not to be confused with a water sign; Aquarius is a highly evolved yet emotionally detached air sign. The symbolization represents them sharing their knowledge and wisdom with the world.
Horses are associated with Sagittarius and birds correspond with Aquarius, this gives you inkling on the driving force behind two signs that are more attached to freedom than they are to anyone or anything else.
Aquarius is the sign of the non-conformist and the woman with the Moon in Aquarius will not express her femininity in a traditional manner, it will be electrifying and her emotional responses; unexpected.
Joan Jett was a revolutionary force that paved the way for other women performers.  While watching the film you can see she must have been an integral part of changing the way women in the music industry were seen.
“Rebellion for its own sake is for him a virtue, and he may occasionally do or say something bizarre just to see the effect it will have on other people” – Alexander RupertiIf
If you watch interviews with Joan Jett the theme of rebellion comes up quite often.  We can learn a lot from her live and let live attitude, to her never being defined by what society said she should and should not be.
“Some people call me a rebel, but I just feel I’m living my life and doing what I want to do. Sometimes people call that rebellion especially when you are a woman”- Joan Jett
“At a very young age I decided I was not going to follow women’s rules”- Joan Jett
While Aries Moon women are known to also shatter glass ceilings and often come equipped with the title “the first woman to_______”.  I should have known Joan Jett was an Aquarius Moon since she initially started out in an all-girl band. Aquarius is associated with groups.  Aquarius rules the 11th house in astrology which governs like-minded friends and group associations.  She also made mention of being a misfit or an outsider and being brought together with other people that did not fit in.  This energy of being on the peripheral of society combined with her first album being rejected by 23 studios was a clear indication of someone possessing Uranus ruled planets in the birth chart.
Aquarius is often cast in the role of outsider. I always suggest to those that have personal placements in Aquarius to be true to themselves. You have to own your individuality.  Planets placed in Aquarius are revolutionary and the price to pay for being ahead of your time is not fitting in with the majority of society. Joan Jett has Saturn squaring her Sun, Mercury and Venus so on some level perhaps she incarnated knowing life would be difficult but she was clearly up for the challenge.
“Live your life outside the box, blow off all the empty talk; they focus on the things you’re not. Just walk your walk” –Joan Jett.
“Original, creative and self-sufficient. Gives the feeling he or she really doesn’t need anyone. Too much closeness seems oppressive. Can only be in a place where all the doors and windows are open. Only acts on free will. When put on the spot or under pressure this person rebels” -Moon in Aquarius –Keywords for Astrology
“Just be yourself and everything will fall in line, the way life is supposed to be” – Joan Jett
“Independence is their primary guiding principal” Stephen Arroyo on Aquarius Moons
While reading through some of Joan Jett’s quotes another Aquarius Moon came to mind, novelist Charlotte Bronte who once wrote: “I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will. “I would always rather be happy than dignified
“I will leave you with one more quote -the author I believe is unknown but I have no doubt whoever said it was in possession of a bad ass revolutionary Aquarius Moon

The Astrology of King Henry VIII & His Wives

King Henry

I recently began watching The Spanish Princess on Starz; it is based on the early life of Catherine of Aragon and the rocky path she traveled to become the first wife of Henry VIII and the Queen of England. The way the relationship is displayed on the show Catherine and Henry had a natural affinity toward one another.

According to the website: www.historyextra.com

“He adored her: she was, we are told, ‘the most beautiful creature in the world’. She was 23, plump and pretty, and had beautiful red-gold hair that hung below her hips. Henry spoke openly of the joy and felicity he had found with Catherine.”

I believe that Henry loved Catherine of Aragon – I believe she is reflected perfectly in his natal chart. Prior to comparing a couple’s synastry we have to look at each partners natal potential.

Henry’s moon sign was in the bold sign of the warrior; Aries. The Moon sign reflects what Henry needed and sought in a woman combined with Venus and the 7th house. When you google Catherine of Aragon; one of the first phrases to pop up are the words: Catherine of Aragon daughter of the Warrior Queen. (The moon also reflects how we experienced our mother)

You can read more about women with Aries Moon here:
ARIES MOON WOMEN AKA WARRIOR QUEENS

Catherine of Aragon

Catherine of Aragon was not some wife that was seen but not heard. She was the true embodiment of the Aries Moon attributes (she too possessed an Aries Moon) while Henry was off at battle it was her that he left in charge to command forces; serving as Regent. It is rumored she even put on Armor and was prepared to fight.  She was many things including a survivor having to live in “aristocratic poverty” in between her marriage to Arthur and Henry.

Henry also had Venus in Gemini; while many sites contribute this to his fickle love nature Venus in Gemini also strongly suggests he valued a woman that was intelligent and interesting. Catherine was highly educated and studied a variety of subjects from law to dance to genealogy and weaving to name a few. Her natal Mercury was in Sagittarius while this may be in detriment it does indicate someone that is high-minded. Some sites even state Catherine was a pioneer for women’s education.

Pioneer by the way is another Aries Moon adjective.

Henry has Venus elevated, you can see it all the way up near the Midheaven this does suggest a variety of things; marrying someone that can enhance your status is one manifestation. Venus in the 10th house is not the most comfortable of placements; it does suggest relationships have an element of formality.  Henry marrying Catherine was a Venus in the 10th house affair;  Henry had a lot to gain from being with Catherine considering Spain was a powerful ally.  I do believe this was a mutually beneficial relationship; Catherine had the Sun in Capricorn the Sun is what a woman seeks in a man and Capricorn is a sign that is concerned with status (though it has various ways of manifesting). His Sun also conjoins her Midheaven indicating this is a man she thought could assist her with accomplishing her worldly ambitions and life goals.

When we superimpose Henry and Catherine’s charts on top of one another we can see they have:

Moon conjunct Moon; this strongly suggests they had similar needs and can find they are at home with one another quite easily.

Henry’s Saturn conjoins Catherine’s Venus; this shows the coming together.  I have no doubt at all that this aspect alone strongly contributed to them enduring 24 years of marriage.

Catherine’s North Node (The North Node indicates where we are headed) falls in Henry’s 7th house which tells us this relationship was destined. This doesn’t necessarily indicate long term success but it does reveal that this connection is one that will assist both parties in terms of spiritual development.

abbe boleyn.jpg

When we look at Anne Boleyn natal chart she has Venus in Aries; here we  find another woman that is the embodiment of what Henry sought in a woman. When I google her I find an array of terms; a bitch, a feminist, bold, mean and ill tempered. Let me first say women with personal placements in Aries believe we can do whatever a man can do. We consciously or unconsciously make strides toward uniting the gender gap. With the Moon and Venus being feminine planets placed in Aries a masculine sign you can see how this manifests.

I will say this as well about Aries placements we are not necessarily moral but we are certainly selfish. Aries has a strong desire to be first. Venus in Aries has no desire to play 2nd fiddle to another woman.

While Anne had her natal Sun placed in slow moving Taurus she had a dignified Mercury in Gemini which would contribute to her being an interesting conservationist and someone that was quick witted.

Anne has 2 charts erected with different times of birth I am using the one that places the moon in Pisces as that is the one that makes sense based on the events that have taken place.

Anne had her Natal Sun in the 10th house similar to Catherine of Aragon  this is woman that wants a man that is “someone”. She is attracted to men that are in charge and have power.

Anne Boleyn had her natal moon in the dreamy sign of Pisces; her moon conjoined Henry’s Descendant. The Descendant represents the qualities we often reject in ourselves and seek in a mate. I live for 7th house overlays to be honest and though relationships can thrive without them I prefer to see them in synastry. When a person’s moon falls in our 7th house you desire to be emotionally close with them; this relationship is based on feelings. We have a sense of connecting with lost parts of ourselves when a person’s personal planets fall in our 7th house; it is a powerful connection.

When we look at the house overlays we also see

Henry’s Venus in Gemini conjoined Anne’s Mercury in Gemini I believe this is the aspect that strongly contributed to his desire to express his affection verbally through letters. When Mercury makes an aspect to another person’s Venus we enjoy speaking to them, with these planets being in Gemini I believe this element is strongly enhanced. Communication can even become flowery and romantic.

Henry’s Moon in Aries also formed an almost perfect conjuction to Anne’s Venus in Aries. I have personally had this aspect with someone (In Aries) and I can tell you it is romantic and affectionate. When the moon meets Venus the 2 parties can have a telepathic link with one another and a desire to dance, listen to music and enjoy life is strongly enhanced in one another’s presence.

If you read King Henry’s love letters to Anne you will find this aspect  speaks for itself.

anne of cleves.jpg

Anne of Cleves was the only other wife with a published date of birth. Henry had this marriage annulled and it is widely reported he found Anne of Cleves unattractive. I personally find her to be one of the more interesting of the women he married.  She was a Libra Sun oddly considering she never remarried. However that Libra Sun reports to her natal Venus in Virgo. Venus in Virgo can very much be the sign of the single woman. If we take a look at the 9 of Pentacles in Tarot; this is the card associated with Venus in Virgo. Here we find a woman in a lavish garden surrounded by all she needs.

Out of all the wives I think she made out best with homes, a full staff as well as financial compensation.  Most importantly she was not locked away or beheaded. We do not have Anne of Cleves birth time so I cannot tell in which house Henry’s Venus and Jupiter fall for her.  You will often find one person financially benefiting from another with hard Venus/Jupiter contacts or Jupiter/Venus falling in  the others 2nd or 8th house. I am not sure as to why she benefited from him nor can I say why he found her unattractive other than the fact that Anne of Cleves was a Libra Sun and Mercury. Libra is the sign opposing Henry’s Moon in Aries. With that being said her Sun formed an opposition to his Moon which strongly suggests this was a Karmic connection. Perhaps with her natal Jupiter conjunct his natal Sun for reasons unbeknownst to us she manifested a level of generosity with in him. Jupiter has an expansive nature. Could it be that her Jupiter in Cancer conjoining his Sun in Cancer -the sign of family-was the reason she became known as “The Kings Beloved Sister”? Interesting to note Anne of Cleves Libra planets Sun, Mercury and Mars fell in the Kings natal 2nd house. The 2nd house is how and where we spend our money.

Breakups, Shakeups and Uranus Transits

Uranus is the planet associated with liberation, change and freedom. Also known as “The Great Awakener” when Uranus transits a personal planet it changes its expression. I like to think of Uranus as the woke planet. A Uranus transit will revolutionize the planet it touches delivering many ah-ha moments. If you have been in a relationship for a long period or even a short period of time (See Michelle Williams) and it just hasn’t been working and Uranus makes a visit via square, conjunction or opposition to your natal Venus or natal 7th house you will have a strong urge to break free. This isn’t to say every Uranus/Venus transit ends in divorce; sometimes it results in an affair, an open marriage, a break or staying together but living apart. Uranus can be very unpredictable so expect the unexpected. One thing is for certain it will rearrange things in such a way that you cannot go back to what was before. The best way to work with Uranus is to allow things to unfold naturally and learn to go with the flow. It can be very difficult for the more willful and ridged types, particularly those that associate change with pain. The only time change is painful is when we hold on to old paradigms that no longer serve us. Let it go and let it flow, control after all is only an illusion of the ego.
Some divorces brought on by Uranus

Wendy Williams Husband Kevin Hunter; Uranus squaring his Venus by 9 degrees a little bit of a wide orb for my taste, I originally predicted them divorcing in 2020 when Uranus will exactly square his Venus but some astrologers do use very wide orbs.

Those with planets in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are currently undergoing changes brought on by Uranus entering Taurus where it will remain for the next 7 years.

If you have planets in 0-10 degrees of fixed signs you can expect changes from now until April 2021
If you have planets in 10-20 degrees of fixed signs you can expect changes from April 2021 until June April 2024
If you have planets in 20-29 degrees of fixed signs you can expect changes from June 2023 until April 2026

If you have heavy Uranus or Aquarius placements in your natal chart and/or do not fear change this energy may be quite familiar and comfortable for you. It is always necessary to take the entire chart into consideration.

Astrology & Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s Engagement

Surprising news was reported by TMZ today that Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber are in fact engaged. This likely came as quite the shock to on again off again ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez –with the upcoming Cancer eclipse in tight conjunction with her natal Cancer sun and square her natal moon.

You can read more about her and Justin’s chaotic synastry below

Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber

We do not have a time of birth for Hailey Baldwin so this chart has been erected with a noon birth time

Hailey has Venus in Libra at the 29th degree we know that for sure and Uranus has been transiting opposite her Venus for quite some time. Uranus will retrograde over her Venus one last time in February 2019 before heading off into Taurus in March. Uranus transits to Venus are common transits to see during divorces and when people marry. We are limited in scope in terms of prediction without her birth time.

Justin’s major transit right now is Neptune conjunct his IC; this can fill someone with a profound sense of spirituality; it can also add a feeling of being lost and directionless. Neptune can be nebulous causing an inner sense of confusion. Neptune is approaching his Venus but will not reach it until sometime in 2020.

However Justin’s Solar Return chart has Libra on the rise indicating relationships are of importance this year, the Solar Return Sun is in the 5th house of love affairs and Uranus is placed in the 7th house –a very common placement for change in relationship status –I often see Uranus in the 7th during the years someone marries or divorces –not always- I like to use the rule of 3. Several transits, progressions AND solar return indicators.

For the Synastry

Justin Bieber’s Moon is in Libra this is what a man seeks in a wife (along with other considerations); this is the type of woman he wants to have a life with-the qualities not necessarily the sign itself. Moon in Libra wants a woman that will make a nice home, someone that is compromising; no matter how it appears on the surface Justin Bieber has a need (Moon) for partnership (Libra) and Hailey’s Venus the feminine principal – is placed in Libra.

Justin’s Moon forms a conjunction to Hailey’s Venus in Libra.

Truth be told this is one of my favorite aspects in synastry; it feels familiar and comfortable; you want to share feelings with one another. Although I do not believe it is written anywhere I feel it creates a psychic link between the two parties.

Her Neptune forms an exact square to his Moon; hard Neptune aspects to personal planets often indicates high idealism, compassion and an almost endless wellspring of forgiveness between the parties involved. This tie is indicative of a spiritual connection.

Sexually speaking; her Mars opposes his Venus (with a wide orb) this makes for great chemistry. I was having dinner with someone that noted she thought when it’s the woman’s Mars that opposes the man’s Venus the woman is often the pursuer. I had this once and I can say that was certainly the case. I would love to hear your opinion! I think it can vary depending on the man and how he feels about a woman perhaps being equally the aggressor or initiator; not every man would be comfortable with this energy.

Hailey’s Sun is almost exactly conjunct Justin’s Ascendant; I have to say I love this aspect. Sun/Moon/Venus on the Ascendant or Descendant or in the 1st or 7th house sign me up! The Sun person can really have a warming influence on the Ascendant person; they feel good to have around.

Her Sun also conjoins his North Node and Pluto; so no matter what occurs this relationship is an important part of Justin Bieber’s personal development and evolution. The Sun/ North Node conjunction and the Sun/Pluto conjunction clearly speaks of a transformative tie; one that can be all consuming.

I think they will struggle most with the element difference; Justin is water dominant and Hailey lacks water this can indicate she does not understand nor can she relate to him emotionally which is of key importance to water signs.

Bill O’Reilly Harassment Allegations & his Afflicted Moon

I do not know anything about Bill O’Reilly as a person or someone as an on-air personality. He has very bad energy so he isn’t someone I care too watch. I personally think the entire energetic field surrounding Fox News is dark like someone needs to come in with a huge sage and wipe it clean. Having recently read about the sexual harassment claims looming over Bill O’Reilly I took a moment to look at his chart.

I do not believe in public crucifixion; I strongly believe every one has a right to due process; with that being said Bill O’ Reilly has a severely afflicted Moon to the 10th power LOL

The Moon in a person’s chart indicates many things, early home life, emotional responses, eating habits, the relationship with the mother & for men it is very significant of the relationship they have with women; the type of women they attract and essentially by aspect how they relate and feel toward the women in their life.

As a woman if I met Bill O’Reilly and ran his chart after a first date, I would not be available for a second. It’s challenging to be polite, dreadful if I am being completely honest.

Bill O’Reilly has his natal Moon in Aries this is not a comfortable place for the Moon this usually signifies a turbulent home life or combative relations with women. This is the energy of Mars (God of War) filtered through the planet that rules emotions and women.

His Moon (emotions) opposes his Mercury (planet of communication/ Messenger of the Gods) this makes for a person that often allows his feelings (Moon) to interfere with his reasoning (Mercury) ability

Bill O’Reilly also has Moon opposite Venus (Bill Cosby has the square) This is a red flag for me in terms of dating. This man often has more than one relationship going on at the same time. He is conflicted between what he seeks in a wife (Moon sign) and emotionally (Moon sign) and what he desires in a girlfriend or how he relates to women (Venus). He doesn’t feel the woman he wants is available in one package. This man is conflicted and finds it hard to relate and navigate relationships with women.

The Moon and Venus are both feminine principals. “Emotionally both the male and female with this opposition have difficulty in relationships” writes the brilliant Betty Lundsted in her book Astrological Insights into Personality.

Lundstead goes on to say the male with this aspect “doesn’t really like his own emotional nature; he doesn’t really like his Mother and he therefor doesn’t really feel comfortable with women” This dislike of women can manifest in the abusive treatment of women” Lundstead continues.

To me that aspect is always a major red flag I cannot stress that enough.

As if this wasn’t enough O’Reilly also has Mars (God of War & Planet of aggression) forming a square to his moon and Venus to me this signifies a man that is abusive toward women, pushy on women. Let’s not forget Mars also corresponds with sex; these aspects also create a man that may love a woman but she isn’t the type he wants to ravish sexually.

Lundstead writes “the excess of this aspect tends to make one angry” Mars aspecting the Moon is almost a double influence of the Aries moon. O’Reilly has been accused of domestic abuse toward his ex-wife and clearly his chart is a reflection of that energy.

Lastly, he has Moon opposite Neptune (Bill Cosby has the conjunction) this man usually has difficulty understanding what a woman should be. Remember Neptune is what we don’t see clearly; men with Neptune on the Moon often categorize women as a whore or a saint and have difficulty understanding women as multidimensional beings. Lunstead writes “men get a distorted image of what a woman should be when they have this aspect”

If you want to know how a man will treat you follow the moon and if it looks like this run for your life

I am Wide Awake; Uranus Mercury Transits

wide awake.gif

I am hardly polite on a regular day with Mars in my 3rd house sextile my Mercury but this transit (Uranus square natal Mercury) is something else. My mouth is like a loaded gun held by Betty Broderick, I just say things.  I won’t say I don’t mean these things, I do still I would rather they went unsaid.

I am not a patient person by any means with a natal Aries Moon I do not wait ever but now my impatience is of epic proportions like none, zip, zero.

The worst part of this transit is possibly my inability to sleep even though I am exhausted!!!

I can be impolite but I can’t walk around f$#ing exhausted

Mercury is the Messenger of the Gods it rules our mental faculties, the way we think and how we communicate.

Uranus rules electricity, it’s called the “Great Liberator”, it governs flashes of insight, lightening, it is actually considered the “higher octave” of Mercury.

When they meet by a square aspect this shows stress and I promise you I am stressed that I can’t sleep.

I can not confess I had any flashes of brilliance and if they ever do come I hope they arrive mid day while i am at the gym or with pen in hand

But for right now it isn’t like I am up all night writing novels or giving astrology readings. I am just up tossing and turning a glass of wine, a sleeping pill, it doesn’t matter I am still wide awake

This transit lasts through 2018 Here is to hoping I don’t have to wait till then to sleep

I am wide awake by Katy Perry is the theme song

Venus in Solar Return 12th House

Today I tweeted I feel like I’m having a Neptune/Venus transit but I’m not. When Neptune transits Venus in hard aspect (conjunction, square and opposition) we can lose touch with reality, we lose ourselves in love, we blindly believe in things; in people. We seek transcendental connections and we very well may believe we have met our soulmate.

As I was driving to work, I realized I have Venus in my Solar Return 12th house this is similar to a Venus/Neptune transit.

When I first saw this, I thought WOW am I going to have an affair this year? What secret relationship am I going to engage in? When people come to me for readings and they have this aspect (the majority of my clients are married) it is with 90% certainty they are having an affair. I’m halfway through my Solar Return and let me just say this is the year of not seeing men clearly. It would take a lot for me to fall head over heels in love. Romanticism is my thing but delusion isn’t. The solar Return 12th house (home to secrets and self-undoing) has Venus (planet of love) on my natal 6th house (work) perhaps I met a man at work that is the cause of my own self undoing. Perhaps I met a man at work I didn’t see clearly. Sometimes astrology is that literal. I love it when it is.

I see the soul of you

I know the whole of you

That’s the kind of day dreamy feelings that enveloped me. He is a player I was told and I laughed no he isn’t. It’s still hard to believe that he is. I take full ownership of this situation after all I never asked. I never asked if he had a harem of women. I never asked anything. That’s Neptune you don’t ask you just believe that you already know. He is Neptunian in every sense of the word. Disappointment: That’s the hallmark of Neptune in relationships; the dream never meets reality. Just wanted to caution those of you with Neptune in the 12th of your Solar Return it’s the secret lover, the love that causes your own self-undoing, the lover you see through rose colored glasses, the Pisces lover, the alcoholic lover, the married lover, the fantasy lover that can’t breathe a breath in the reality of your life lover

Saturn Opposite Jupiter Transit; A Crisis of Faith

Perhaps I should have called my first post on Saturn opposite Jupiter transit “a crisis of faith” that’s what it is really and the closer the orb gets the greater the crisis will be I imagine. Make it till January Danielle that’s all you have to do; that is what I tell myself.

I can be a runner in some ways but I have decided to face my shit so I’m no longer carrying it with me. When sad in typical Cancer fashion I call out sick and stay home for a week to nurse my wounds. This time I have decided to confront my them head on. After all we can’t heal what we refuse to face.

Jupiter governs the 9th house in astrology home to religion, beliefs, and politics when Saturn is in hard aspect to Jupiter via transit your beliefs come into question. I have found people have been talking to me about “God” more so than ever before.  I was checking in a guest and he asked me if God exists, a colleague wanted to know why people post Pray for Syria and if God existed would this be happening? I don’t believe in God- not in the sense- one man is in the clouds dictating our lives. I have never believed in God like that. My guest called me a Humanist when I explained this to him. I shy away from labels generally speaking. How very Aquarius rising of me

I encountered an issue recently that set me back financially and a disappointment in my love life that was harsh. Disappointment can be debilitating to me I am naturally so hopeful. Disappointments in love are not an anomaly I have Saturn in the 7th house it sorts of comes with the territory. This year numerologicaly (universally) has been a nine year this signifies the end of a cycle.  I can see a montage of bad relationships choices laid out in front of me. The culmination of bad choices I refuse to carry with me into 2017! I refuse.

Stop putting hope in false prophets may be another Saturn opposite Jupiter catch phrase. “I release the pattern within my consciousness that created this condition” is one of my daily Louise Hay Affirmations I’m forever drawn to melancholic men that wear sadness like a cloak. The next one has to be happy I tell myself that should be the #1 criteria You can’t save anyone shit sometimes you can’t even love them; they won’t let you.

“When you have lived in a Dungeon for a very long time the light when you see it can actually hurt your eyes” – Marianne Williamson

So, here is Saturn calling me on my Jupiterian beliefs. I believe in Law of Attraction I believe in working with the cycles of your life I love Eckhart Tolle and Abraham Hicks I believe (such a Jupiter word) in those teachings so now it’s time to find practical application for them (Saturn) I have a social media account that’s comprised of astrology but also of spiritual texts I can tweet Louise Hay all day but if I’m not living it well that’s just bullshit. You aren’t what you say you will do…. you are what you do. (Ah a major 2016 lesson) so it’s time to get real (Saturn) about my spirituality (Jupiter) it’s time to go to work on it. It’s time to wake up and go balls to the wall with my faith. Transcend my own man-made prisons, change my subconscious limiting beliefs, not crumble in the face of disappointment and truly believe that “everything is working out for me”.  I will drag my ass out of bed and one day at a time, one affirmation at a time, one mediation at a time align with the belief (Jupiter) that within the next 4 weeks when this transit is over, I will be shiny and new.

Saturn the Buzz Kill to Jupiter

I am tired, drained really, I do not have much energy and I feel the energy I do have is spent doing what I have to do, I don’t really have any excess to do the things I want to do. I have the Sun in the 5th house my identity, my journey if you will is centered around love and creativity. The 5th house is the house of joy; being weighed down with extra responsibilities is exhausting.

It is very important that you tend to your natal Sun, that you nourish it with the activities suggested by the house that it is placed in. 6th house Sun, fitness time and order will really help you flourish. If you have a 9th house Sun schedule a vacation or attend a lecture. Wherever our Sun is placed we need to remember to feed it.

Energetically I always run very high I have Sun square Moon, a Cardinal T square in my chart along with a Grand Fire Trine. Cardinal signs are doers. My Mom said she was going to buy me a makeup bag that read “I am busy” because I always am. I laugh at people that have the time to correct my grammatical errors on twitter, I am pretty sure they aren’t doing all that I do in a day. Running, going, writing, working, giving readings, taken a class, on and on and on until this week I hit a wall.

The culprit; Saturn is opposite my Jupiter via transit

Saturn Rules

  • Responsibility
  • Time
  • Work
  • Boundaries
  • Lessons
  • Practicality Zzzzzzz

According to Jeanne Avery in Astrological Aspects Your Inner Dialogs

Saturn “describes shoulds, musts, and ought’s”

“Saturn is the testing ground of life and indicates the greatest karmic lesson to be learned”

I don’t do Saturn very well.

I believe if you look to the natal chart you will see how hard a transit for you will be. Not all astrologers believe this; I think if you are heavy say Plutonian Pluto transits will be easier for you because you are familiar with that energy. I have Pluto square my Sun, opposite my Moon exact, trine Jupiter, sextile Saturn, Neptune & Midheaven and trine my Ascendant. Pluto is woven into me, death and rebirth it all comes naturally. I just finished a Pluto opposite Sun square Moon transit and it was pretty much all gravy.

But Saturn transits god you can find me lying in bed weeping.

I am just not very good with rules and structure I prefer to be free floating.

Saturn is now opposing my natal Jupiter in the 4th house it will be exact on New Year’s Eve Oh the joy

Jupiter Represents

  • Expansion
  • Optimism
  • Good Luck
  • Joy

“The Jupitarian quality is a marvelous combination of practicality and enthusiasm. The reverse quality is disappointment. If the aim is too high and the goals are missed the individual can be paralyzed by the letdown” –Jeanne Avery

You want to look where Jupiter and Sagittarius are placed in your natal chart to see where you feel lucky or optimistic. I have Sagittarius on my Midheaven, I think this gives me a hope that things will work out and when they don’t, I would say I am greatly disappointed. I usually work from an inner knowing which stems from my natal Jupiter in the 4th house. The 4th house is the root of the chart and reflects what we carry deep within us among other things. So, I have never been a 5-year planner I am a go with the flow listen to my own guidance sort of person.

I intuit mostly everything I do. I announced the other day at work I was booking a trip to Machu Piccchu and my colleague said Oh Peru…I had no idea where it even was! I sort of get called to do things

I have written before that I do not feel Jupiter brings us lotto wins or grand romances, I think it infuses the planet or house with an optimism and belief that everything will be ok and usually it is until it isn’t.

And that brings me to Saturn opposite Jupiter

Saturn squashes the belief, the optimism, the joy that Jupiter holds. It tests (Saturn always tests) your beliefs, your truths, your inner workings (if Jupiter is in the 4th house).

Robert Hand writes in his book Planets in Aspect about Saturn opposite Jupiter transit

“During this time your opportunities for growth and expansion are limited”.

PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO F&%ING TIRED TO DO ANYTHING

“You often feel as if your personal freedom is unduly limited by others”.

“This transit is a useful if not always pleasant encounter with reality”

Saturn squelches the joy and optimism of Jupiter don’t let anyone ever tell you any different.

For those of you that have this natal oppositions can work like a swinging door so you can be optimistic, joyful, overly eager and then fall victim to Saturn the disappointment, melancholy, and depression can kick in. Robert Plletier writes in “Planets in Aspect” those that have this natal

“You fluctuate between knowing what you are worth to having doubts about your value”

I know this isn’t the worst transit, (those will happen for me in 2018 when Saturn enters Capricorn, I seriously just finished recovering from Saturn in Libra) that’s the beauty that comes with age when you are young you think this will never end, when you are older and know astrology you can simply open your ephemeris and say I may have to drag my uninspired tired ass all the way through December but as of January 1st this transit is over and I can go back to being my high energy manic self perhaps with a few lessons in the bag.

Jupiter enters Libra September 10th 2016

Jupiter will enter Libra on September 10th 2016 and will stay in the cardinal air sign until October 10, 2017. Jupiter stays in a sign for approximately a year and will transit the entire birth chart in 12 years. Jupiter transits are quick and not life changing. I have received some flak for saying that I am not fond of Jupiter transits. I feel more than anything they infuse the house they are in over a 12-month period with optimism but if anyone is looking for quick lotto gains and Princesses Diana weddings, I don’t believe Jupiter brings us this despite what we are sometimes led to believe.

In my opinion the most significant Jupiter transits are when Jupiter crosses the ascendant and into the first house, I have seen some people abandon their old life in search of new. Just recently someone I know moved after 20+ years at the same residence and another that changed jobs after 15 years in the same establishment. Jupiter transits to the 1st house encourages people to take chances and leaps of faith. I love that!

I’m also fond of your Jupiter return I believe this brings blessings or gifts to the house that holds the natal placement of Jupiter. This occurs approximately every 12 years so ages 23, 36, 48 etc. A planetary return is when a planet returns to the place it was at the time of your birth. For example the Solar Return happens once a year on your birthday when the sun returns to the place it was at the time of your birth, a Saturn Return happens twice at the age of 28-31 approx. and 56-60, Uranus makes one return if you are lucky enough to live to 84 but Jupiter due to the quick rate at which it moves will return to your natal Jupiter every 12 years. I find those years to be particularly significant

Jupiter Rules:

  • Optimism
  • Prosperity
  • Freedom
  • Expansion
  • Morals
  • Wisdom
  • Trust
  • Goodwill

When Jupiter transits a house more than anything we believe in the possibilities, our approach is an inclination that things will work out. We believe and while IMO that isn’t the transformative energy I much prefer, it can certainly lighten the load.

Libra is the sign that corresponds to

  • Beauty
  • Partnership
  • Equality
  • Balance
  • Fairness
  • Harmony
  • Diplomacy

Libra Rules the 7th house in astrology home to

  • Law Suits
  • Open Enemies
  • Marriages and Divorces
  • Negotiations
  • Contracts
  • Business Partnerships

(Of course, Libra also has the shadowy side as well –indecisive, superficial, in need of partnership to the point they often cannot function alone)

I find the nature of Jupiter corresponds well with the philosophies of Libra. In Author Molly Halls book (cover featured below) she describes Libra as a sign “that’s passion for justice makes Libra a sign that excels in diplomacy, law, politics, mediation and social advocacy”. She goes on to describe the planet Jupiter as “Jupiter rules all areas in which an over reaching meaning is sought; these include religion, publishing, philosophy and the legal profession”. I would go so far as to say that I expect to see Jupiter’s visit to Libra to either enhance our current partnerships both personal and professional or free us from them. Remember Jupiter rules expansion and freedom and often you will find during a Jupiter transit you are let go of or fired from a job you really didn’t like or you find the courage to leave an unfulfilling relationship (Libra being the sign of partnership). Sometimes things happen that seem awful at the time but really serve to expand (Jupiter) our consciousness and quality of life really.

I am still hopeful to see some law enforcement reform with Saturn Lord of Karma visiting Sagittarius and now perhaps getting a boost from Jupiter in Libra. Both Sag and Libra correspond to legalities both being somewhat idealist signs I think perhaps they can bring some much-needed change in Police Departments across the country (fingers crossed). More than anything I expect Jupiter in Libra to alter the way we as a whole relate to one another. I would expect to see a boost in our partnerships. If you are a Libra rising, Sun or Moon do watch your diet this is the transit of gaining weight. After all Jupiter expands whatever it touches and sometimes that is our waistline; on the Ascendant that is how you appear and the Moon rules our eating habits. I know we tend to think of Jupiter as a beneficial transit but you do want to watch your debts (8th house) and expenditures (2nd house) when Jupiter transits the money houses as already mentioned Jupiter expands whatever it touches and that isn’t necessarily always a good thing.

The Tarot Card associated with Jupiter in Libra is 4 of swords sometimes knows as Truce. If you think about the number 4 it is all about balance and that is what Libra seeks most, equality. Four is a stable number 4 legs to a table, a square has 4 sides, we have 4 cardinal points, east, west, north and south, 4 seasons, 4 phases of the moon etc. Swords are related to air and intellect Libra is an air sign, concerned with peace, diplomacy and like all air signs: ideas. The 4 of swords is about taking a time out before the fight which is indicated in the 5 of swords, it seeks to find a peaceful resolution. I recall someone once describing Libra as an “Iron fist in a velvet glove”. So perhaps this tarot card is the gathering of strength, the rest before the action, as you can see 3 swords are above the sleeping man and one is just below him, easy to grasp in a moment’s notice. While Libra may seem passive one must not forget they are a cardinal sign like Aries, Cancer and Capricorn so they do direct their energy outward. I also believe this card relates to Jupiter in the sense that Jupiter is sometimes the bragger yes someone that talks excessively (Jupiter in the 3rd house or Jupiter on Mercury) but sometimes Jupiter is an inner knowing an inner expansion and inner peace and that is reflected in this card.

I hope Jupiter’s visit to Libra brings you the improved relationships you seek. If nothing else maybe we will be inclined to see the very best in others xoxo
